Ruth Trivelpiece, M.Ed, CCC-SLP, is a nationally recognized expert in the management of feeding disorders in children with craniofacial conditions.
Ruth's experience provides the expertise required in evaluating and managing a broad range of feeding problems related to craniofacial conditions. Working with the team speech patholgists and occupational therapist, all infants are evaluated for feeding difficulties.
Services include in-hospital newborn feeding consultations, outpatient clinical feeding evaluations, and videofluoroscopic swallowing evaluations. Support, counseling, and educational sessions are always included for the family’s benefit.
Should specialized feeding systems be required, our feeding expert will provide each family with a start of appropriate bottles or nipples, along with resources to obtain further supplies.
The Cleft Palate Foundation website has an excellent set of videos designed to give families information about feeding babies with cleft palates.
